Our Public Data Supplement provides information about our data collection and processing practices when acting as a Processor or Collector for public information. This supplement is in addition to Leadership Connect’s Privacy Statement.
Collected Data
Leadership Connect (including its sub-processors) lawfully sources data from government agencies or other public data sources (“Providers”). The volume and variety of the data and the methods by which the data is collected limit our ability to independently verify and/or validate the accuracy or completeness of the public data. Accordingly, public data is subject to change at any time without notice.
Although Leadership Connect makes every effort to verify the information we collect, our data is provided “as is”, with no warranty expressed or implied. Leadership Connect, its Providers, sub-processors, employees and agents shall not be responsible for losses or damages that may directly or indirectly arise from the use of the public data contained in Leadership Connect products.
Public Data Use
Leadership Connects offers our public-data products only to legal and authorized businesses and government entities for their legitimate business uses (“Customers”) and does not distribute this data to the general public. If we reasonably believe that data has been misused, abused or compromised, we may block access without additional notice.
Although all requests are subject to evaluation and approval in accordance with any applicable law, you may request that your personal information, derived from public data sources, be suppressed in our products. Individuals who make such a request can typically demonstrate:
- his/her personal information in our products exposes him/her to risk of physical harm; and/or
- he/she is a victim of identity theft.
Leadership Connect will require a written explanation substantiating the request and depending on the nature of the request, you may be required to provide:
- copies of credentials
- police reports or court orders (regarding potential physical harm); and/or
- police reports or letters from credit reporting companies (regarding identity theft)
Leadership Connect will make every attempt to suppress information, but is limited to which data sources it can remove data from. The company is unable to remove records from data sources comprised of information made available by governmental agencies, such as but not limited to federal contracts data. Any information, from public sources, that continue to appear in Provider feeds may reappear in our data.
