Borderpatrol President Joe Biden unveiled three executive orders aimed at reversing the immigration policy of former President Donald Trump. One of these executive orders establishes a task force focused on reuniting families separated at the southern border under the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy. This task force will be headed by newly confirmed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

In a White House briefing, Biden explains that the second order will focus on providing a safe and orderly processing of asylum seekers at the U.S. border with Mexico. The third order will aim on strengthening integration and inclusion efforts for new Americans. Biden said,

By the grace of God and the goodwill of neighbors, we’ll reunite these children and reestablish our reputation as being a haven for people in need.
