NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack announced on January 17, 2018, that Don Nash has decided to step away from his role as executive producer of the Today show’s 7-9 a.m. time slot. Don Nash has been a producer for the show since 1999 and was also Matt Lauer’s longtime producer. Succeeding Nash in this role is Libby Leist, who has been on the show as a senior producer for the past five years. Prior to that, Leist served as a Washington producer for the network.
Tom Mazzarelli will continue to serve as the Today show’s co-executive producer.
