Yesterday, CNN announced that Chris Cuomo, current co-host of CNN’s “New Day” morning show, will become the host of a new 9 p.m. nightly show called “Cuomo Prime Time,” scheduled to start sometime this spring.
This move comes just two months after Cuomo’s limited month-long run of “Cuomo Prime Time” this January.
The new show will not change the current prime-time lineup with “Anderson Cooper 360” at 8 p.m. and “CNN Tonight” with Don Lemon at 10 p.m. CNN also announced that with the start of “Cuomo Prime Time,” CNN Newsday anchor John Berman will move to “New Day,” joining Alisyn Camerota as co-host.
Chris Cuomo joined CNN in 2013 as a co-host of “New Day.” Prior to that, Cuomo was chief law and justice correspondent, as well as an anchor for “20/20” and “Good Morning America” at ABC News.
Cuomo started his career in journalism at Fox News Channel where he was a correspondent for the “Fox Files” show.
Cuomo’s father, Mario Cuomo, was a former governor of New York, and his brother Andrew Cuomo is the state’s current governor. His wife, Cristina Greeven Cuomo, is former vice chairwoman of Niche Media, LLC and former publisher and editor-in-chief of Manhattan File Magazine.
