Alison Kilmartin
Alison Kilmartin is now senior advisor at the White House Office of Cabinet Affairs. The office coordinates communications, policy, and logistics between the White House and the Cabinet, daily, and manages issues that affect multiple federal agencies.
Kilmartin brings an extensive knowledge of law and policy, previously holding a position at the Department of Labor as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy, where she assisted in providing advice on policy development, program evaluations, regulations and legislation. When she was previously named Deputy Chief of Staff in the department’s Office of the Secretary, former Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta noted Kilmartin “helped move forward the Department’s aggressive deregulatory agenda for America’s job creators and job seekers.”
Before working in the government, Kilmartin held associate roles in the Supreme Court and appellate practice at Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP from 2015 to 2018, and in the business and tort litigation practice at Jones Day from 2008. She passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam on her first try then she went on to write a book called How to Kill it in Law School: Secrets to Success in 2017. She is a Penn State Law Valedictorian graduate.
