Alec “AJ” Sugarman has started at the White House as a special assistant to the president for legislative affairs. Sugarman, whose new position was first reported by Politico, was previously a legislative analyst at the Office of Management and Budget.
Sugarman is the son of former Entertainment Tonight Host Mary Hart and TV Producer Burt Sugarman. He graduated from Stanford in 2014, and was a research analyst on Marco Rubio’s 2016 presidential campaign. From 2016 to 2017, Sugarman served as a legislative assistant for Representative Brad Wenstrup (R-OH).
