Prior to his 10 years in professional practice, Papik graduated from Harvard Law School in 2008, while serving as an executive editor of the Journal of Law and Public Policy.

Papik went on to clerk for two federal court judges, Neil Gorsuch from 2008-2009 and Laurence Silberman from 2009-2010.

Papik, 36, will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of former Associate Justice Max Kelch.

The appointment is Governor Rickett’s fourth to the states highest court.
