The Connecticut Senate voted unanimously to approve Richard A. Robinson as the first African-American chief justice of the Connecticut Supreme Court.
The approval was a quick process that followed the long battle sparked by Governor Dannel Malloy’s previous pick in Justice Andrew McDonald, which ultimately did not get approved.
Robinson replaces former Chief Justice Chase Rogers, who retired in February.
