General Motors Co. named Dan Ammann CEO of its self-driving vehicle business GM Cruise LLC. Ammann, who has been president of GM since the beginning of 2014, will pull into Cruise on Jan. 1.
Ammann led GM’s acquisition of Cruise Automation Inc. in 2016 and oversees the subsidiary in his current role. He replaces company co-founder Kyle Vogt, who will continue as president and chief technology officer.
This appointment comes on the heels of GM’s announcement earlier this week that it is cutting its workforce headcount while shifting resources to its electric and autonomous vehicle programs.
