CenterPoint Energy, Inc. and Vectren Corporation both announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement, with CenterPoint acquiring Vectren.
At the closing of the transaction, Scott M. Prochazka will serve as president and CEO of the combined company, which will be known as CenterPoint Energy.
The rest of the executive team is expected to be announced before or in synchrony with the closing of the merger.
The merger is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2019.
